For the first three day weekend of the year, I decided to take my new Leather Bag by Todder bag out for a spin! I have been so excited to share about this piece. Between the absolutely gorgeous leather and the brilliant artists behind it, there is a lot to talk about. So let’s get started. (P.S. Todder’s New England Roots Inspire Their Bag Design
When first deciding which of the beautiful Joppa totes would work best with my wardrobe, I could not keep my eyes off the natural color. I’m not usually drawn to light leather or denim during the colder months. But there was something about this I could not resist! I’m so glad I went with my gut.
The leather is so soft and after several days of use, I can only rave about the design. Sometimes the inner pocket of a large bag is too small to be of any real use. But I was able to fit my phone, sunglasses, lipstick, and headphones in there, protecting them from my laptop, wallet, and kindle.
It should come as no surprise being that this bag was designed by women, for women. And these ladies really thought of everything!
Todder Makes All Leather Bags Completely In House
Todder designs and creates all their pieces completely in house. (In their New England warehouse that I need to visit!!) This includes their sample making, leather cutting, leather finishing, logo embossing, painting, stitching, and product testing. The team of four is passionate about quality and strive to create pieces that will last a lifetime. They are continually working to reduce waste in their process, which you can read about HERE. And, they source all of their leather in the US.
I let the tote sit on a chair in my room for a few days, looking beautiful, as I often do to preserve that fresh-out-of-the-box feeling. However, after an entire weekend of dragging it around with me, it looks exactly the same. And I don’t baby my purses. I only have a few bags, and I expect to have each of them forever. There’s nothing worse than getting something new and having it start falling apart in the first year… Let alone the first day! (In fact, this is why Ted, Todder’s founder, started the company in the first place.)
It’s the perfect leather bag for weekend adventures!
Once last Friday night rolled around, I could not have been more excited to enjoy some much-needed relaxation and planned to bring the tote with me on all of my adventures. The weather did not look promising, but I didn’t mind. Like many of you, much of my time was spent cuddled inside with friends or Mari Kondo-ing my house.
We did brave the elements eventually, and this bag was perfect for the spontaneity of the weekend. When Aaron and I head out for the day, we never know quite where we’re going to end up… Even if we just have errands on the agenda! It’s nice to be able to carry around my laptop and kindle in case we end up at one of our favorite coffee shops for a couple of hours (which somehow always happens!).
Sunday morning we woke up to this snowy paradise and drove about 15mph to church. (The Californian in us still as no idea how to function on these roads.) Thankfully, we made it safely and then giddily snapped pictures for the rest of the afternoon. I don’t think I will ever get over seeing all of my favorite places covered in white.
On Monday, my friends and I decided to explore a few new vintage shops we’ve had on our list. I found so many amazing treasures and then came home and spent the evening rearranging my room, my favorite pastime. I love how my Todder bag looks hanging on my clothing rack. This doesn’t quite fit in with Mari Kondo’s bag-in-bags method, but it’s too pretty to hide.
This color works all year long
This tote is going to be perfect for all the pastels and light colors of the spring and summer. I am already planning outfits even though it’s 20 degrees! Only seven weeks until daylight savings, and I cannot WAIT.
P.S. If you’re looking for a smaller purse, Todder has mini bags that you should check out as well!
Todder sponsored this post, but, as always, all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own. Thank you for reading, and please let me know if you have any questions!
