It’s officially light-wash jeans season! I snagged these Madewell Perfect Vintage Jeans last fall and wore them quite a bit in the winter, but I really couldn’t wait to bust them out for spring. I’ve been loving styling them for the transitional weather.
However, for as much as I love these, I recently tried on the updated Madewell Curvy Vintage Jeans, which they created for us curvy ladies, and I love them even MORE. You’ll notice that in all of these photos, the jeans pull a bit near the button. However, when I sized up, they no longer fit my waist. Because they aren’t made for my body type, I’ve just lived with it, but they completely solved this problem with the Curvy style. I haven’t yet sold this pair and replaced them with the Curvy version, but I’m planning on it!
I’ve basically given up on thrift shop jeans.
I can never seem to find my size or that ideal vintage wash. I constantly see girls wearing their thrifted Levi’s and looking fabulous, but there’s really no guarantee that I’ll ever find a pair, so in the meantime, Madewell it is!
Even though these jeans don’t feel very stretchy, they do loosen up a bit. And the 11” rise provides lots of extra room where I need it. 🙂 But, at the same time, they fit my waist. Which is so rare!
(Sidenote: The curvy version has a 12.5” rise. By the time I finish this blog post, I bet I will have purchased them!)
Buying jeans can be so frustrating.
I remember in high school desperately wanting to make the boyfriend jean look work for me, and it just did not honor my body type. These give me an alternative to skinny jeans without pulling out my wide leg pants.
Madewell jeans have been my favorite for years.
I also own the Madewell Curvy High Rise Skinny Jeans in Tencel, but I’ve been trying to give them a bit of a break since I wore them so much in the fall and winter. It’s so nice to know which jeans I love, and I appreciate that Madewell is much more affordable than other jean brands out there. I will be sure to keep you guys updated the next time they have a big sale!
So, which is your favorite look?! Comment below and let me know if you’ve tried the Madewell Perfect Vintage Jeans, Curvy Vintage Jeans, or High-Rise Skinnies. I’d love to hear what you think!
I have the perfect vintage jeans in this wash! I LOVE them. I actually had some vintage Levi’s in the about the same wash, but they were not as comfortable or flattering as the Madewells, so the Levi’s went out in my last closet purge. I’m not super curvy (on the bottom anyway 😂) so I probably won’t be trying those.
WOW! That makes me feel even better!! Haha. I love that they have options for everyone!
Yay! I love these jeans so much, and that Madewell has made changes to be more inclusive for every body. You’ve styled them beautifully <3
Agreed!! I am very happy about it. Thank you, Meghan!! 🙂
I will never again waste money on any other brand of jeans. The regular fit me fine though a little tight in the hips. I’m only mildly curvy and prefer the curvy after buying a pair on sale. I do wish the Perfect Vintage Jean had an 11 inch rise instead of 12. Anything with a 12 is too high giving me Steve Uriel vibes.
