This post is sponsored by Grove Collaborative, but all thoughts are my own!
Our household is finally feeling settled after one of the craziest (maybe the craziest?) year of my life. This time last year, we’d just finished moving into our home in Mississippi from our home of three years in Kentucky, only to be home here in California less than a year later. To say I’m ready to nest would be an understatement!
It can be really difficult to make sustainable choices outside of a daily routine, so I’m excited to be in my own space. Even if I don’t know how long we’ll live in this exact spot depending on a variety of factors, we have no plans to move outside of a 50 mile radius ever again, which is a lot easier than bringing everything you own across the country multiple times!!
I’ve also been able to get a handle on my health lately, including multiple daily walks and more greens into my life – which is also difficult to do without a routine and a home base. All of this to say, I’m really excited to have some consistency in my life!!
At the end of last year, I shared about some products I love from Grove, and in this blog post, I want to share my top five core products that are the easiest and best sustainable swaps if you’re just starting out shopping sustainably and using clean products!
I love that I can trust that all of these Grove products have been vetted to be plant-based, sustainable, and free from harmful chemicals.
Sustainable Swap #1: Reusable spray and soap bottles – It’s wild to think that after every time we go through a bottle of soap or cleaning spray, it gets dumped into a landfill! It’s actually just as easy and arguably more affordable to use reusable ones.
Sustainable Swap #2: Reusable snack bags – These have been SUPER helpful as Aaron’s been going back to work and packing a lunch. They are perfect for snacks and easy to clean.
Sustainable Swap #3: All purpose cloths – We got into a bad habit of cleaning with paper towels, so having these on hand has made it so much easier to avoid wasting paper unnecessarily. I also love the way they leave a surface so smooth!
Sustainable Swap #4: Cellulose sponges – I’ve loved switching to cellulose sponges compared to the normal plastic ones I usually grab at the store. They work really well and are plant-based!
Sustainable Swap #5: Reusable straws – I used these in my last post too! I LOVE them and drink my water with one every day. They come with a tool that allows you to keep them clean as well.
I have only been on this journey for a few years, so I still have a ton to learn, but it has been really great to switch up the products I use to make better choices. In addition to properly vetting all of their products, Grove is 100% plastic and carbon neutral! I hope you find some of these sustainable swaps helpful as you make your own changes this year!
i love your cleaning stuff.
